AVR has been under the same management team
since its incorporation in 1964. We were originally a fully
operating service bureau using addressographs (for you youngsters,
an addressograph is like an automatic printing machine for
addresses and mailers, as well as other applications).
Like most companies at the time, we evolved
our business tools, models and investments to reflect the
rapidly evolving technology at the time: IBM 402, IBM407,
IBM1901, IBM360; Univac Mainframes; then finally PCs.
With the evolution of the PC in the 1980s,
we bean writing our own software into Cobol--selling our own
software. The market responded and we were transformed into
a software-centered company. We added service components a
few years later, and now offer a blended mix of software,
services, maintenance and consulting.
If you really want to know about our history,
ask one of our employees--chances are they were a part of
it. Our goal is to not only be innovative, but organizationally
stable. Our employees stay for between over five years and
over 30 years. And while none of us will be here (or anywhere)
forever, the value that we’ve created for clients, employees
and partners will live forever.
